Our story

A sisterhood, forged in real life, offered freely to the next woman rising.

Tarana Gordon — Founder & Executive Director

Pink Powerful Divas was founded by Tarana Gordon with a passion for helping women discover their purpose, overcome life's challenges, and become strong, confident leaders.

The journey began in 2015 with a social club called PPD. What started as a group of 16 women quickly became much more than a social club. Every woman in the group was facing her own personal struggles — difficult relationships, financial hardships, single parenthood, or simply trying to find her way in life.

"I wasn't always the woman I am today."
— Tarana Gordon

As a married mother of three, life was not easy. Tarana experienced difficult seasons, financial challenges, and hardships within her marriage. During those times, she often wished she had a strong support system of women who truly understood.

Instead of allowing those experiences to define her, she chose to use them as motivation to help others. As the women in PPD continued to meet, they developed a genuine sisterhood — encouraging one another, praying together, celebrating victories, and inspiring one another to become better women. Those relationships became life-changing, and Tarana saw the vision: countless other women needed the same love, encouragement, mentorship, and support.

Today

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a sisterhood.

Today, Pink Powerful Divas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through mentorship, life-skills training, financial literacy, employment readiness, community resources, and — in the future — transitional housing.

At Pink Powerful Divas, we believe every woman deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive. We are more than a nonprofit. We are a sisterhood.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. — Philippians 4:13
